State Road 30 begins at its junction with US 84/285 in Española. It runs due south from the Plaza de Española as the Los Alamos Highway and then southwest through Santa Clara Pueblo. It passes into San Ildefonso land about half-way between its endpoints. It ends at a intersection with State Road 502.
